The bioluminescence tour is more than just an hour trip sea kayaking at night. It´s a three hours interactive experiences where different sceneries are combined. We leave from the beautiful beach at Curú Refuge, where you can also spot a large number or wild animals, easy to observe and photograph. We leave at 5 pm from the calm bay of Curú beach toward Quesera beach, a beautiful white sand beach that is part of this protected area.
The distance to go is about 3 km and takes about 20 minutes paddling on a kayak to reach the shore of Quesera beach. If wanted, you can join us in the boat that is accompanying the kayaks and serve as a safety boat for assisting those who have little experience and might need some help on the way or back. Once at the paradisiacal Quesera beach, you can relax on the fine white sand to watch the beautiful sunset, while enjoying fresh fruits and drinks on the house.
There is time to swim in the clear waters of Quesera beach just before the staff gives an explanation of the phenomenon of bioluminescence, what causes it and why we observe it. We also provide snorkeling masks, so you can see the beautiful natural neon light.
We will take a guided visit through this pleasant biological reserve; where you will enjoy its tropical forest and well as its ecosystem. Our historical protected area was the first of its kind to be created in Costa Rica, and since then, it has expanded to include a large area of forest located in the extreme south of the Nicoya Peninsula. Here, you can see animals such hauler monkeys, white face monkeys, a wide variety of birds, agoutis and other animals. Perfect for those who enjoy bird watching and love nature. Also, you can see a variety of plants.

There is a group of 3 waterfalls that are 5, 12, and 25 metres tall, respectively. These natural beauties have formed natural pools at their bases, where you can swim, relax, and enjoy nature and your experience.
Tortuga Island is located in the Gulf of Nicoya across from the Curu Wildlife Reserve. To arrive here you take a stunning boat trip leaving from Tambor, after each person has been picked up from their hotel.
The boat trip takes around 30 minutes, and when we arrive to Tortuga Island we will prepare a delicious BBQ on the beach. You can choose from fish, chicken, potatoes, and fruit. You can also have a refreshing beer or water.
Tourists will have one hour to go snorkeling and to enjoy the island’s marine wildlife. If you prefer, you can do other activities that aren’t included in the tour, such as banana boat rides, jet ski rides, games on the beach, sunbathing in lounge chairs, hiking, etc.
As soon we arrive in the Island Tortuga the diving club boat will come to pick you up, for the one immersion we advise due the tour time. The visibility average is between 2 and 7 meters. What has on this waters is nice volcanic rock formations, a big school of fish, rays, morays, white tip sharks. We provide all the scuba equipment, and of course a Dive Master or an Instructor as a guide, we just need to know your wet suit size.
If you are not certificated you can join us on our diving tour, doing a discovery, which is the beginning of diving, as soon we get to the island you will take another boat for that. Starting with exercises on calm water on the beach no deeper than 2 meters, to get used to the equipment, and after a professional dive no deeper than 7 meters, always with a Dive Master or the instructor.
Once in the deep sea water anglers catch Sailfish, Marlin, Tuna, Mahi-Mahi and Wahoo trolling. Inshore fishing is done around rocks, reefs, river mouths and estuaries and anglers catch Roosterfish, Tuna, Snapper, Jacks, Mackerel, Snook and more, jigging or trolling.
Curú Wildlife Refuge is the protected area in the Nicoya Peninsula where you will find more animals and nature in the same place. The combination of protected area and farm, provides Curú with different ecosystems that can hold a big variety or animals and wildlife. In a 90 minutes hike, you will see plenty animals and plants and our guides will teach you about the sustainable use of land. On the trails you will witness how our company make us of the resources and funds raised with the payment you make every time you make a tour with us.

This tour combines 2 tours in one day, so you can enjoy and learn during the nature hike inside Curú Wildlife Refuge and also enjoy and relax on a kayak tour to one of the most beautiful and pristine beaches in the area. We start the tour paddling for 20 minutes from Curú beach to Quesera Beach, one or the 3 beaches inside Curú. We have a safety boat that accompany the kayakers on their way from Curú beach to Quesera Beach, for those who want to do the rout in the boat instead of kayaks, will be welcome onboard the boat. Once arrived to Quesera beach, you can swim I n the turquoise waters or do snorkeling.
We offer fruits and soft drinks so you can relax on the sand while enjoy the fresh fruits. We start the way back to Curú after staying a couple of hours on Quesera beach, so we arrive to Curú administration area just on time to enjoy a “Casado”, costarrican stile food, combined with tropical juice. After lunch and after a short break at the administration area, where you can find souvenirs from local people, we start our 90 minutes hike on the natural trails in Curú. Our local guides will show you the plants, animals and history of the place. Some of this knowledge was transmitted by their grandparents and parents. Curú is famous in the area because of the amount of animals living in a small area.
An exciting circuit with 9 cables distributed across 13 platforms will take you through the mountains of Montezuma. From the air, you’ll enjoy adrenaline and see the richness of wildlife found in Costa Rica from panoramic viewpoints, with the Pacific Ocean in the foreground.
That’s what the intense ziplining experience is all about, and you may see howler monkeys and Capuchin monkeys, parrots, iguanas, and much more. Also, during the tour, you will visit famous waterfalls, where you can take photos or swim in the natural pools that the waterfalls have carved out.
